중국측 회담대표인 우이 부총리는 중국은 자국 내에서 판매되는 모든 컴퓨터가 합법적인 운영체계를 갖추도록 요구할 것이라고 말했습니다. 중국은 이밖에 정부 구매에 관한 세계무역기구 협정에 참여하기 위한 협상을 시작하기로 합의했습니다. 이 협정이 체결되면 미국 기업들은 중국 내에서 정부 계약에 더 많이 참여할 수 있게 됩니다.

China has agreed to lift a ban on U.S. beef exports and crack down on copyright piracy of U.S. computer programs.
U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez said China promised during trade talks in Washington Tuesday to reopen its markets to U.S. beef after clearing up some remaining technical issues. He did not say how long that would take.
Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi, who led China's delegation at the trade talks, said China would also require that all computers sold in China have legal operating systems.
China also agreed to launch negotiations on joining a World Trade Organization agreement on government procurement. The move could give U.S. companies a greater share of government contracts in China.
The U.S. government has been urging China to take steps to reduce a soaring trade gap between the countries.
Wu is traveling with a delegation of 200 Chinese business executives with the expectation that they will sign contracts to buy more than 16 billion dollars in U.S. products.
