페르베즈 무샤라프 대통령이 소집한 파키스탄 국가 안보 회의는 12일 인도와 미국의 핵협정은 인도의 핵무기 프로그램 확대에 도움을 줄 것이라는 결론을 내렸습니다.
미국의 조지 부시 대통령은 파키스탄은 인도와 비교해볼때 핵의 필요와 역사적 배경이 다르다며 핵협정 제의를 거부했습니다.

Pakistan has again expressed concern over the nuclear deal between India and the United States, saying it will have to maintain a credible nuclear deterrent for its own security.
A meeting on national security led by President Pervez Musharraf concluded that the India/U.S. agreement would help New Delhi expand its nuclear weapons program.
Under the agreement, India will open a majority of its nuclear facilities for UN inspections and in return will be able to buy nuclear power plants and also fuel from the United States and other suppliers.
But President Bush has refused to give a similar deal to Pakistan, saying its needs and history are different.
