목격자들은 평화 유지군이 시위대를 향해 발포해 1명이 사망했다고 말했습니다. 그러나 유엔 관리들은 이 같은 내용을 부인했습니다. 시위자들은 앞서 선거 위원회가 회의를 가졌던 수도 포르토 프랭스의 한 호텔 근처에서 도로를 차단하고 구호를 외치며 시위를 벌였습니다.
일부 프레발 전 대통령의 지지자들은 최종 선거 결과가 지연되는 사실에 대해 격분하고 있습니다.
최근 투표 결과 프레발 후보가 48 퍼센트를 득표한 것으로 나타났습니다. 아이티는 선거법상 후보가 50 퍼센트의 득표를 하지 못할 경우 결선 투표를 치뤄야만 합니다.

United Nations peacekeepers in Haiti have clashed with supporters of former president Rene Preval during a protest over results from last week's presidential vote.
Witnesses said the international troops opened fire on the crowd, killing one person. But U.N. officials denied shooting at protesters.
Earlier, the protesters set up road blocks and chanted slogans near a hotel in Port-au-Prince, where the country's election commission has been meeting.
Some of Preval's supporters are angry at delays in issuing final vote results.
The latest results show Preval won about 48 percent of votes and former President Leslie Manigat received nearly 12 percent. Candidates need more than 50 percent of votes to avoid a run-off election.
