이란의 마후무드 아마디네자드 대통령은 4일, 유엔사찰관들에 의한 이란 핵시설의 현장 점검을 즉각 중단하라고 명령했습니다.
아마디네자드 대통령은 국제원자력기구, IAEA가 이란 핵계획을 유엔 안전보장이사회에 회부하기로 결정한 지 몇시간만에 이같은 조치를 취했습니다. 아마디네자드 대통령은 국제원자력기구와의 자발적인 협력은 현지시간으로 5일 현재 중단되어야 할 것이라고 말했습니다.
국제원자력기구, IAEA특별이사회는 이날 표결에서 IAEA 35개 이사국중 27개국이 찬성하고, 쿠바, 시리아, 베네수엘라 등 3개국이 반대했으며, 알제리, 벨로루시, 인도네시아, 리비아, 남아공 등 5개국은 기권했습니다.
이란의 자바드 바이디 국가안보회의 부의장은 이날, 이란은 러시아내에서 우라늄 농축을 하자는 러시아의 제안을 더 이상 고려하지 않을지도 모른다고 말했습니다. 그러나 러시아는 이 제안은 여전히 열려 있다고 말했습니다.

Iran's President Mahmoud has ordered an immediate end to spot checks of Iran's nuclear plants by U.N. inspectors. He made the move today (Saturday) hours after the International Atomic Energy Agency voted to report Iran to the U.N. Security Council over suspicions it is trying to make atomic weapons.
Mr. Ahmadinejad said voluntary cooperation with the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency must be suspended as of Sunday. Diplomats in Vienna say 27 I.A.E.A. members voted in favor of the motion to refer Tehran, five abstained and three voted against it.
A top Iranian nuclear official (Javad Vaeidi) responded to the vote by saying Tehran may no longer consider Moscow's proposal for Iran to enrich uranium in Russia. But Russia says its offer is still open. Iran says its nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes.
