U.S. officials in Beijing have announced that Chinese President Hu Jintao plans to visit the United States in April. Details of his trip have not been released.
The news comes as U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick is in Beijing for talks with top Chinese officials on bilateral relations, security and proliferation issues.
Zoellick met with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao today, and is expected to meet with Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing. As part of his three-day trip, Zoellick will also travel to the southwestern city of Chengdu.
