카자흐스탄의 누르술탄 나자르바예프 대통령이 지난달 실시된 대통령 선거에서 압도적인 승리를 거둔데 이어 또다른 7년 임기의 취임식을 가졌습니다. 취임식은 11일 수도 아스타나의 대통령 궁에서 성대하게 거행됐습니다.
올해 65세의 나자르바예프 대통령은 구소련 국가인 카자흐스탄을 지난 15년간 통치해 왔습니다. 당시 카자흐스탄은 석유부국으로 성장하면서 지속적인 경제 성장을 구축했습니다.
나자르바예프 대통령은 지난 해 12월 4일 실시된 대통령 선거에서 91퍼센트의 압도적 지지를 얻으며 3선에 성공했습니다.
그러나 서방 관측통들은, 투표함 조작과 야당에 대한 협박등을 이유로 부정 선거가 자행됐다고 지적했습니다.

Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev has been sworn-in for another seven-year term, after a landslide election victory last month.
The elaborate ceremony took place today (Wednesday) at the presidential palace in the capital, Astana. Mr. Nazarbayev read his oath of office and kissed a light-blue national flag, as hundreds of dignitaries looked on. Among those attending were Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko and Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili.
The 65-year-old Mr. Nazarbayev has ruled the former Soviet republic for the past 15 years. During that time, Kazakhstan has enjoyed steady economic growth and has become a rising oil power.
Mr. Nazarbayev won re-election December fourth with 91 percent of the vote. But Western observers said the poll was flawed because of tampering with ballot boxes and intimidation of the opposition.
