이라크 수도 바그다드에서 23일 수만 여명의 수니 아랍계가 지난 15일 실시된 총선거에서 부정이 저질러졌다며 항의하는 시위를 벌였습니다. 초기 집계 결과는 시아파 연대가 크게 앞선 것으로 나타났습니다.
한편 수단 외무부는 외교관 1명 등 수단인 6명이 바그다드에서 납치됐다고 밝혔습니다. 이들은 기도회에 참석하고 나오던 중 납치됐으며 납치된 외교관은 바그다드 주재 수단 대사관의 2등 서기관이라고 수단 외무부는 말했습니다.
이밖에 바그다드에서 북쪽으로 70 킬로미터 떨어진 아드하임에서는 저항분자들의 공격으로 이라크 병사 8명이 사망하고 17명이 부상했습니다. 또 자살폭탄범이 바그다드 북부 발라드 루즈에서 시아파 회교사원을 공격해 최소한 4명이 사망했습니다.

Tens of thousands of Sunni Arabs demonstrated in Baghdad Friday to protest what they said were flawed December 15th parliamentary elections. Preliminary results show a strong lead for the main Shi'ite coalition.
Meanwhile, Sudan's Foreign Ministry says six Sudanese, including a diplomat, have been kidnapped in Baghdad.
The ministry says the victims were seized after attending prayers Friday. The abducted diplomat was identified as the second secretary at Sudan's mission in Baghdad.
Elsewhere, insurgents ambushed an Iraqi checkpoint in Adhaim, about 70 kilometers north of Baghdad, killing eight Iraqi soldiers and wounding 17.
A suicide bomber also killed at least four people at a Shi'ite mosque in Balad Ruz, about 75 kilometers northeast of Baghdad.
The U.S. military also says two U.S. soldiers were killed Friday when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Baghdad.
