회의에 참석한 말레이시아와 캄보디아, 인도네시아, 필리핀, 싱가포르 및 태국 국회의원들은 성명에서 버마 정부가 의미있는 민주개혁을 거부하고 있다며 비판했습니다.
이들은 또 야당 지도자인 아웅산 수지씨를 비롯한 모든 정치범의 즉각적인 석방을 촉구하는 한편 유엔 안보리에 대해서는 버마 문제를 논의할 것을 요구했습니다.

Southeast Asian lawmakers meeting in Kuala Lumpur have wrapped up a two-day conference on Burma by condemning the ruling junta's human rights record.
In a joint statement issued today (Saturday), parliamentarians from Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand denounced Burma's refusal to engage in meaningful democratic reforms.
The delegates called for the immediate release of all political prisoners, including opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
They also called on the U.N. Security Council to discuss the issue of Burma and to call on the military government to cooperate with the United Nations in moving forward on genuine reform.
The group also demanded that Burma never be allowed to chair the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) until it achieves meaningful reforms.
