영국과 네덜랜드계 석유회사 shell은 나이지리아 연안 대륙붕의 거대한 유전에서 새로 석유를 생산하기 시작했습니다.
shell은 나이지리아 대륙붕의 봉가 유전이 하루 22만 5,000배럴의 석유와 1억5,000만입방피트의 가스를 생산할 것이라고 밝히고, 가능한 한 빠른 시일내에 생산목표에 도달하게 되기를 기대하고 있다고 발표했습니다.
shell은 봉가 유전이 나이지리아 전체 산유량의 10%를 증가시키게 될 것이라고 말했습니다.

The Anglo-Dutch energy company Shell has begun pumping oil from a huge new field off the coast of Nigeria.
Shell says the Bonga field will produce 225-thousand barrels of oil and 150 million cubic feet of gas per day. It says it hopes to reach the production targets "as soon as possible."
Shell says the field will increase Nigeria's total oil output by 10 percent.
The west African nation currently produces two-point-five million barrels of crude oil per day. The government has said it wants to raise that figure to four million barrels per day by 2010.
