Agriculture officials say a new bird flu outbreak has been discovered in Indonesia's Aceh province.
Authorities say hundreds of chickens infected with (H5N1) the most deadly strain of avian influenza virus have died in three districts in Aceh.
In Vietnam, public health officials say a 15-year-old boy from the northern port city of Haiphong has tested positive for the same H5N1 strain of the flu virus.
(The findings have not yet been confirmed by the World Health Organization.) The boy, who is expected to recover, comes from a district (Tien Lang) where repeated bird-flu outbreaks (among poultry) have occurred during the past month.
