한국의 정동영 통일부 장관은 북한 핵 계획에 관한 6자 회담에서 합의가 도출될 경우, 북한은 경수로를 제공받을 때까지 무료로 전력을 공급하겠다는 한국의 제의를 받아들일 준비를 갖추게 될 것이라고 말했습니다.
정 장관은 로이터 통신과의 인터뷰에서, 최근의 베이징 6자 회담에 대한 낙관을 표명하고, 그러나 빠른 시일 내에 합의가 이루어지기는 어려울 것 같다고 덧붙였습니다.
정 장관은 합의가 타결되고 북한이 핵 무기 계획 폐기의 댓가로 원하는 민간용 경수로가 건설되는데는 10년이나 그 이상이 걸릴 수도 있다고 말했습니다.

South Korea's Unification Minister says that if the six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear program reach a deal, Pyongyang is willing to accept Seoul's offer of free electricity until it receives a light-water reactor.
In an interview with the Reuters news agency, Chung Dong-young expressed optimism about the latest round of talks in Beijing, but said reaching a deal anytime soon is unlikely. He said it could take a decade or more to reach an agreement and build the civilian nuclear reactors the North wants in return for abandoning its nuclear weapons program.
He said that during the time between the agreement and the construction of the reactors, Pyongyang indicated it would be willing to accept some 2,000 megawatts of free electricity from South Korea.
