러시아는 2명의 승무원과 국제우주정거장을 여행하려는 미국인 1명을 태운 로켓을 지구 궤도에 발사했습니다.
러시아의 소유즈 로켓은 1일 중앙아시아 카자흐스탄의 바이코누르 우주센터에서 발사됐으며, 3일 우주정거장에 도착할 예정입니다. 미국인 빌 맥아더, 러시아인 발레리 토카레프등 새로운 우주정거장 승무원들은 내년 4월까지 지구 궤도에서 생활하게 됩니다.
열흘 일정의 이번 우주여행을 위해 2천만달러를 지불한 미국인 그레고리 올슨씨는 올해 60살의 부유한 사업가입니다. 올슨 씨는 10월 11일 교체되는 우주정거장 승무원들이 임무를 마치고 귀환할 때 같이 지구로 돌아오게 됩니다.

Russia has launched a rocket into Earth orbit carrying two crewmen and an American "space tourist" to the International Space Station.
The Soyuz rocket lifted off early today (Saturday) from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan, in Central Asia. It is scheduled to arrive at the space station on Monday.
The new space-station crew -- American astronaut Bill McArthur and Russian cosmonaut Valery Tokarev -- will remain in orbit until next April.
The space tourist -- Gregory Olsen of the United States -- is paying about 20 million dollars for his 10-day trip into orbit and back. He will travel back to Earth (on October 11) with the space-station crewmen who have just finished their tour of duty.
Mr. Olsen, 60 years old, is a wealthy businessman with a scientific background. He is the third non-astronaut to visit the International Space Station.
