타이완은 중국과 가까운 2개 도서지역에서 중국 화폐인 위완화의 거래를 허용할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.
프랭크 시예 타이완 총리는 28일 타이페이에서 이같이 발표했습니다.
시예 총리는 중국 푸지앙성과 인접한 킨멘및 마수 섬의 주민들은 다음달 10월 3일부터 사상 처음으로 위완화를 새로운 타이완 달러로 교환하는 것이 허용될 것이라고 말했습니다.
양안간의 공식화폐 거래는 여전히 금지되고 있습니다.

Taiwan has announced plans to allow the exchange of Chinese currency on two of its offshore islands.
Taiwan Premier Frank Hsieh made the announcement today (Wednesday) in Taipei.
He said people on the islands of Kinmen (Quemoy) and Matsu, just off the coast of China's Fujian Province, will, for the first time, be allowed to exchange the yuan and the New Taiwan dollar beginning October third.
Exchange of the two currencies on the main island of Taiwan is still banned.
Taiwan has restricted transportation links, as well as commercial and financial contacts with China since the island separated at the end of a civil war in 1949.
China continues to claim sovereignty over Taiwan.
