압바스 총리는 18일 국경 지역을 시찰한 후 팔레스타인 라디오 방송과의 회견에서, 이제는 대 혼란이 종식됐다고 말했습니다. 마지막 이스라엘 군인들이 가자 지구를 떠난 지난 12일 국경 보안 체계가 붕괴됐습니다.
그후 1주일 동안 수 천명의 팔레스타인 인들이 검문 검색을 받지 않고 이집트로 건너 갔습니다.
한편, 무장단체 하마스는 18일 가자 시티에서 대규모 집회를 개최했습니다. 하마스 지도자들은 수 천명의 무장대원들과 지지자들에게 이스라엘이 모든 팔레스타인 영토에서 물러날 때까지 무장을 해제하지 않을 것이라고 다짐했습니다.

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas says the Gaza Strip border with Egypt has been sealed, ending a week-long flood of Palestinians into Egypt following Israel's Gaza withdrawal.
After touring the border today (Sunday), Mr. Abbas told Palestinian radio the "chaos" is over.
Border security broke down Monday, as the last Israeli troops left the territory. Through the rest of the week, thousands of Palestinians crossed into Egypt unchecked.
Also Sunday, the militant Hamas movement staged a large rally in Gaza City.
Thousands of militants and their supporters heard leaders vow the group will not disarm until Israel is driven from all Palestinian land.
