중앙아프리카공화국에서 지난 한 주 동안 신원이 확인되지 않은 무장단체들의 공격으로 인해 약 4천명의 주민이 인근 차드로 피신했다고 유엔이 밝혔습니다.
유엔 난민고등판무관실 대변인은 19일 주민들은 중앙아프리카공화국 북부 파오와 지역에서 발생한 폭력사태를 피해 달아났다고 유엔에 밝혔다고 전했습니다.
유엔 난민고등판무관실은 지난 6월에도 두 주 사이에 8천여명의 중앙아프리카공화국 주민들이 피신했다고 밝힌 바 있습니다.
차드에는 현재 수단 다르푸르에서의 내전을 피해 도망해 온 난민 20만명과 중앙아프리카공화국의 정치불안을 피해 이주한 주민3만여명 등이 거주하고 있습니다.

The United Nations says some four-thousand people have fled to Chad from the neighboring Central African Republic in the past week because of attacks by unidentified armed groups.
A spokeswoman for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees says the new arrivals told the agency they were fleeing violence in the Paoua region of northern Central African Republic.
This is the latest major wave of refugees to flee the Central African Republic for Chad in recent months. In June, the U.N. refugee agency said more than eight-thousand people had escaped the fighting within a two week period.
Chad already hosts about 200-thousand refugees who fled Sudan's civil war in Darfur, as well as 30-thousand refugees from the Central African Republic who arrived when President Ange-Felix Patasse was toppled in a coup in 2003.
