이라크의 잘랄 탈라바니 대통령은, 헌법 기초 위원회가 상당수의 현안을 타결지었으며, 예정보다 하루 앞선 14일 헌법 초안이 마련될 것으로 본다고 말했습니다.
탈라바니 대통령은 13일 기자들에게 이같이 말하고, 현재 남부 지역에 연방 지역을 설정하라는 남부 시아파의 요구 사항과, 회교와 국가간의 관계에 관한 문제가 중점적으로 논의되고 있다고 밝혔습니다.
71인 헌법 기초 위원회의 일부 위원들은, 석유 소득의 분배에 관한 예비 협정등 대부분의 의견 불일치 분야가 해소되었다고 말했습니다.
헌법 초안은 15일 이라크 임시 국회에 제출돼 심의를 받은 뒤 오는 10월 국민 투표에 회부됩니다.

Iraq's president says the committee drawing up the country's new constitution has resolved many outstanding issues and predicted a draft of the document should be ready Sunday, a day ahead of schedule.
President Jalal Talabani told reporters today (Saturday) that discussions are now focusing on demands by Shi'ites in southern Iraq for creation of a federal region in their area and the relationship between Islam and the state.
Some members of the 71-person constitutional committee say most areas of disagreement have been resolved,including a preliminary deal on the distribution of oil wealth.
They say the deal would give regional oil-producing areas five percent of revenue, with the remainder going to the central government for nationwide distribution.
A draft constitution is to be submitted to Iraq's National Assembly Monday for debate before a national referendum in October.
