중국 외교부 대변인은 중국이 어떠한 형태의 테러도 반대하고 있으며, 테러 공격을 자행해 민간인 사상자를 내는 자는 단호히 규탄돼야한다고 강조하고, 이번 테러 공격은 국제 사회가 테러와의 전쟁에서 아직도 갈길이 멀다는 것을 보여주는 것이라고 말했습니다.

Authorities in London now say 37 people were killed and 700 injured in the bombs that ripped through three subway trains and a double-decker bus today (Thursday).
British Prime Minister Tony Blair says the terrorists behind the attacks were acting in what he calls "the name of Islam."
Mr. Blair, who spoke after returning to London from a Group of Eight summit in Scotland, said most Muslims around the world deplore such acts.
He pledged to bring the perpetrators to justice, and said Britain will not be intimidated. He called today a very sad day for the British people.
The attacks occurred at the height of morning rush hour. Police say they received no prior warning.
A group calling itself the Secret Organization of al-Qaida in Europe posted a statement on an Arabic website taking responsibility. The authenticity of the statement could not be confirmed.

President Bush has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in London (Thursday), saying he and other world leaders will not yield to terrorists.
Mr. Bush expressed his condolences to British Prime Minister Tony Blair and the people of London as he spoke to reporters outside the Group of Eight summit in Scotland.
The president says he had spoken with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to ensure "extra vigilance" in the United States.
White House officials say Mr. Bush will return home as planned on Friday.
In a statement, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Americans are proud to stand next to the British people, whom he described as "determined and resolute."
Meanwhile, the Homeland Security Department announced it has raised the threat alert level to "high' for buses, subways and trains, but not for airlines. Also, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice ordered American
embassies around the world to review their security procedures.

Asian countries are also condemning the deadly attacks on London's transit system. A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman (Liu Jianchao) says China opposes terrorism of any kind, adding that anyone who launches terrorist attacks and causes civilian casualties should be resolutely condemned.
The spokesman also said the attacks show the international community still has a long way to go in the war on terrorism.
In Australia, Prime Minister John Howard said on national radio the attacks would not alter the determination of free countries -- in his words -- "to do the right thing."
And at the Group of Eight summit in Scotland, Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said he is outraged by the London attacks. He said terrorism is absolutely unforgivable.
Sarin gas attacks on the Tokyo subway system in 1995 killed 12 people and injured thousands.

Governments in several countries in the middle east have denounced the bomb blasts in London (Thursday).
Syria's President Bashar al-Assad condemned the attacks in a cable sent to Prime Minister Tony Blair.
In Tehran, a spokesman for Iran's foreign ministry (Hamidreza Asefi) expressed his condolences for the victims and their relatives and said terrorism was inappropriate for achieving any aims.
The kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemned the blasts and said it continues to support intensifying efforts to combat terrorism.
Both Israeli and Palestinian Authority officials condemned the blasts.
And authorities in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon and Turkey also denounced the attacks.
