한편, 이라크에서 일본인 사이토 하키히코 씨를 납치했다고 주장해온 이슬람 무장단체인 [안사르 알-순나군]은 28일 피로 뒤덮인 남성의 모습이 담긴 동영상 화면을 화면에 올리고, 이 사람이 사이토 씨라고 주장했습니다.
[안사르 알-순나군]은 사이토 씨가 지난 8일 차량을 타고 가다 자신들의 총격을 받았을 때 부상한 뒤 사망했다고 주장했습니다.
일본은 아직까지 그의 죽음을 확인하고 있지 않지만, 바그다드 주재 일본대사관 고위관계자는 문제의 화면 속 인물이 사이토 씨일 가능성이 매우 높다고 말했습니다.
사이토 씨는 키프로스 소재 영국 경비업체 하트 시큐리티사 소속으로 지난 해 12월부터 이라크에서 컨설탄트로 일해 왔습니다.
이라크 보안군은 저항분자들의 공격을 저지하기 위해 다음 주에 바그다드 일원에서 소탕작전을 준비하고 있습니다.

Insurgents in Iraq are pressing on with their attacks, as 40-thousand Iraqi security forces prepare to launch an offensive against them next week.
Police say at least five people were killed today (Saturday) in a double suicide bombing near an Iraqi military base in the northern town of Sinjar.
Meanwhile, the militant group Army of Ansar al-Sunna posted photos on its website showing the corpse of an Asian man it claims is Akihiko Saito, a Japanese security guard kidnapped three weeks ago. Japan has not confirmed his death, but diplomats say it is "very likely" he has been killed.
And Iraqi security forces are preparing to cordon off Baghdad next week in an attempt to stop insurgent attacks that have killed more than 600 people in the last month.
