이란의 헌법 감독 기관인 혁명 수호 위원회 위원들은 다음 달에 실시될 대통령 선거에 출마할 개혁파 후보자 거의 대부분의 입후보 자격을 박탈했습니다.
강경 노선의 수호 위원회 위원들은 오는 6월 17일 대통령 선거에 출마하기 위해 등록한 천 여명 후보자들의 등록을 거부했습니다.
개혁파 인사로 수호위원회로부터 대통령 선거 출마 입후보 승인을 받은 유일한 후보는 메흐디 카루비 전 국회의장 뿐입니다. 입후보 자격을 박탈 당한 후보들 가운데는 이란의 최대 개혁 정당인 ‘이슬람 이란 참여 전선’ (Islamic Iran Participation Front) 소속의 유일한 후보인 무스타파 모인 씨도 포함됩니다.
이란의 수호위원회는 국내 모든 선거들을 감독하고 국회에서 통과된 법안들이 회교 교리에 부응하는 것인 지를 확실히 하기 위한 단체로 12명으로 구성돼 있습니다.
지난 해 이들 혁명 수호 위원회가 개혁파 인사 2천 4백 여명 후보자들의 국회의원 선거 입후보 자격을 박탈함으로써 이란 국회는 강경 노선 의원들이 장악하고 있습니다.

Iran's constitutional overseers have disqualified nearly all pro-reform candidates in next month's presidential election.
Members of the hardline Guardian Council rejected more than 1,000 candidates who had registered to run in the June 17 election. The only pro-reform candidate to receive the council's approval is Mehdi Karroubi, a former speaker of parliament.
Among those rejected was Mustafa Moin, the only candidate of Iran's largest reformist party, the Islamic Iran Participation Front.
Iran's Guardian Council is a group of 12 individuals that supervises elections and makes sure the laws passed by parliament conform to Islamic doctrine.
Last year, hard-liners took control of Iran's parliament after the Guardian Council disqualified more than 2,400 reformists from running for office.
