아시아-아프리카 지도자들은 아시아와 아프리카 간의 경제적 정치적 유대관계를 증진하기 위해 앞으로 전략적 동반자 관계를 확대해 나가기로 했습니다.
수실로 밤방 유드호요노 인도네시아 대통령은 23일 이틀간의 정상회담을 마치면서 이 같은 새로운 선언을 하나의 “이정표”라고 말했습니다.
인도네시아 자카르타에서 열린 아시아-아프리카 정상회의 이틀째 회의에서 100개국 정상들은 이 지역의 빈곤, 부패, 테러와의 전쟁에서 협력을 강화해 나가기로 다짐했습니다. 정상들은 또한 세계 인구의 4분의 3을 차지하고 있는 이 지역에서 인권과 민주주의를 증진하고 지켜나가기로 합의했습니다.
정상들은 지난 1955년 냉전시대에 비동맹운동을 태동시켰던 아시아 아프리카 국가회의의 개최지인 반둥을 24일 예방하는 것으로 이번 회의일정을 모두 마치게 됩니다.

Leaders from Asia and Africa have endorsed a strategic partnership aimed at expanding economic and political ties between the two continents.
Wrapping up the two-day Asia-Africa Summit in Jakarta today (Saturday), Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono called the new declaration a "milestone."
Under the agreement, leaders of 100 African and Asian countries pledged to increase cooperation in the fight against poverty, corruption and terrorism. Participants also agreed to promote and protect human rights and democracy in the two regions, which account for more than three-quarters of the world's population.
Leaders will conclude the summit on Sunday with a ceremonial visit to Bandung -- the site of a similar 1955 conference of African and Asian nations that gave birth to the Non-Aligned Movement during the Cold War.
