오바마 당선자는 2일 필라델피아에서 열린 전국주지사회의에서 이 같은 입장을 밝히고, 일자리 창출과 세금 감면을 위한 계획을 지지한다고 말했습니다.
주지사회의 의장인 에드 렌델 펜실베이니아 주지사는 도로와 공항 건설, 광역 인터넷망 설치와 같은 주정부 기간 산업에 연방 정부의 예산 지원이 필요하다고 촉구했습니다.
한편 오바마 당선자와 의회 민주당은 다음달 중에 5천 억 달러 규모의 경기부양예산을 통과시키고, 이 중 일부를 주정부에 지원한다는 계획입니다.

U.S. President-elect Barack Obama says he intends to build a partnership with state governors to design and implement an economic recovery plan, as states face mounting budget problems.
In remarks today (Tuesday) to a meeting of the National Governors Association in Philadelphia, Mr. Obama said he supports an economic plan that will help create jobs and lower taxes.
The chairman of the association (Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell) called for federal funding for infrastructure projects, such as repairing and building roads, airports and broadband Internet lines.
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger noted that the projects in discussion are "ready to go," and could be started a few months after the new administration takes office.
Vice President-elect Joe Biden, who also attended the meeting, said such projects will provide both short-term and long-term benefits.
The money would come from a 500 billion-dollar fiscal stimulus measure Mr. Obama and Democrats in Congress plan to pass next month.
