미국의 조지 부시 대통령은 인도의 만모한 싱 총리에게 뭄바이 테러 공격에 책임이 있는 테러분자들을 추적하기 위해 국제사회가 공동 노력할 것이라고 말했습니다.
백악관 대변인은 부시 대통령이 30일 싱 총리에게 미국의 국무부와 국방부가 뭄바이 사태를 해결하기 위한 자원과 인적 요원들을 지원할 것이라고 밝혔다고 전했습니다.
지난 26일 인도 뭄바이에서 테러 공격이 발생한 이후 부시 대통령이 싱 총리와 전화 통화를 한 것은 이번이 두번째입니다. 미국의 바락 오바마 대통령 당선자도 싱 총리와 대화를 계속하고 있습니다. 미국의 한 외교 소식통에 따르면 일단의 미국 관계관들이 인도 뭄바이의 테러 공격 사건을 수사 중인 인도 정부를 돕기 위해 인도에 도착했습니다.
미국 정부는 이들 조사단에 관한 정보나 어떤 부서가 수사에 참여하고 있는 지에 관해 공개하지 않고 있습니다.

U.S. President George Bush has told Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that the international community will work together to go after the terrorists responsible for the attack on Mumbai.
A White House spokesman (Gordon Johndroe)said Mr. Bush informed the Indian leader today (Sunday)that the U.S. state and defense departments will devote resources and personnel to the situation.
This was Mr. Bush's second conversation with Mr. Singh since the terror attack began Wednesday. U.S. President-elect Barack Obama has also spoken to the Indian prime minister.
According to a U.S. diplomatic source, a team of U.S. officials arrived in India today to help the government investigate the Mumbai attack.
The U.S. government has not released information about the team or which agencies are taking part in the investigation.
