IMF는 지난주 파키스탄 정부가 수십억 달러의 외채 상환을 위해 재정 지원을 요청해 왔다고 밝힌 바 있습니다.
IMF와 파키스탄 관리들은 세계적인 경제불황을 비롯해 높은 식량 가격과 국제 유가를 파키스탄 경제 위기의 원인으로 지적했습니다.

Germany's foreign minister says Pakistan must secure a loan from the
International Monetary Fund this week if it is to avoid a financial crisis.
Frank-Walter Steinmeier made the remarks to reporters in Islamabad today (Tuesday)
after meeting with Pakistani officials.
Last week, the IMF confirmed that Pakistan had requested financial assistance
to avoid defaulting on billions of dollars in foreign debt.
The IMF and Pakistani officials blame many of the nation's financial troubles
on the global economic crisis, as well as high food and fuel prices.
In related news today (Tuesday), Pakistan's military announced that it
has suspended the construction of its new multi-million dollar headquarters in
Islamabad.
