드미트리 메드베데프 러시아 대통령은 그루지야의 오세티아와 압하지야 자치구와의 상호우호조약 체결안을 의회에 상정했습니다.
러시아의 대통령 공식 웹사이트에 의하면 두 자치구와의 우호조약 체결안은 정치적 우선 처리 사항으로 분류돼 러시아 하원인 국가두마에 제출됐습니다.
러시아 정부가 내놓은 새 방안은 그루지야의 두 자치구에 대한 보호차원에서 필요할 경우 무력도 사용할 수 있다고 명시하고 있습니다.
메드베데프 대통령과 그루지야 자치구 정상들은 지난달 상호우호조약을 체결했으며 그루지야가 군사적 도발을 할 경우 지역내 재앙으로 이어질 것이라고 경고한 바 있습니다.

President Dmitri Medvedev has asked parliament to ratify friendship and
cooperation treaties with the Georgian breakaway regions of South Ossetia and
Abkhazia.
The Russian presidential Web site says the documents were submitted to the
lower house of parliament, the Duma, with a note declaring the legislation a
"politically important priority."
The legislation pledges that Russia will use military force, if necessary, to
protect both Georgian regions.
Russian forces swept into Georgia August seventh, as the Georgian military
tried to retake control of South Ossetia by force. More than seven thousand
Russian troops remain in the regions.
Mr. Medvedev and breakaway leaders signed the treaties last month, at which
time the Russian warned that what he called further Georgian aggression would
lead to "catastrophe on a regional scale."
