러시아는 지난 달 러시아와 그루지아간 군사 분쟁의 중심지였던 친 러시아 성향의 남 오세아티아와 압하지아 지역에 외무장관을 파견했습니다.
세르게이 라브로프 외무장관은 프랑스 중재로 이룬 양국간 합의에 따라 러시아가 그루지아내 나머지 지역들에서 자체 군 병력을 계속 철수시키고 있는 가운데 이들 지역을 방문하고 있습니다.
그루지아 외무부는 14일 라브로프 장관의 이번 방문에 대해 '어처구니없는 일' 이라고 비난하면서 러시아는 이들 영토가 독립 국가들이라는 인상을 심어주기 위한 방문을 시도하고 있다고 비난했습니다.
러시아는 이번 주 남오세아티아 그리고 압하지아와 경제적, 군사적 협력에 관한 협정을 체결할 것으로 보입니다. 러시아는 이들 지역에 7천 6백 명의 자국군 병력을 무기한 주둔시킬 계획이며 이들 지역과 전면적인 외교관계를 수립할 것이라고 말하고 있습니다.

Russia has dispatched its foreign
minister to the Georgian breakaway territories of South Ossetia and Abkhazia --
the two pro-Russian territories at the heart of last month's Russian-Georgian
military conflict.
Sergei Lavrov visits the territories as Russia continues to pull its troops
from the rest of Georgia, in line with a bilateral agreement brokered by
France.
The Georgian foreign ministry Sunday denounced the Lavrov trip as a
"farce," and accused Moscow of launching the visit to create the
impression the territories are independent states.
Moscow is expected this week to sign agreements with both territories on
economic and military cooperation. Russia says it plans to station 76-hundred
troops indefinitely in the territories, and has said it will establish full
diplomatic ties.
Georgia has repeatedly accused Moscow of effectively annexing the two regions,
despite vocal objections from the European Union, NATO and the United States.
