러시아군은 그루지야에서 철수하더라도 자치구인 남오세티아와 압하지아에는 오랫동안 주둔할 것이라고 세르게이 라브로프 러시아 외무장관이 9일 밝혔습니다.
라브로프 장관은 그루지야가 남오세티와 압하지야에 대한 통제권을 재탈환하는 것을 막기 위해 러시아군의 주둔이 불가피하다고 말했습니다.
러시아는 8일 그루지야의 두 자치구 외각의 소위 보안지역으로부터 오는 10월15일까지 병력을 철수시키겠다고 동의했습니다.
이에 앞서 드미트리 메드베데프 러시아 대통령은 그루지야로부터 남오세티아와 압하지야에 대한 불가침협정서를 전달 받았습니다.
미하일 사카쉬빌리 그루지야 대통령은 어떤 협정이든 그루지야 영토의 통합성을 존중해야 한다고 강조했습니다.

Russia's foreign minister said today (Tuesday)that Russian troops will be a presence in the Georgian breakaway regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia "for a long time."
Sergei Lavrov said Russian forces are needed to prevent Georgia from attempting to regain control of the two breakaway regions.
Monday, Russia and Georgia agreed that all Russian troops would be pulled out of the so-called security zones outside the two breakaway regions by October 15th.
Russian President Dmitri Medvedev received a written guarantee that Georgia would not use force again in South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili stipulated that any agreement must respect Georgia's territorial integrity.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy negotiated the agreement between Moscow and
Tbilisi. He also drew up last month's cease-fire between the two countries.
