중국 신장 위구르 자치구에서 어제 중국 보안요원 3명이 흉기에 찔려 사망했다고 중국 관영 신화통신이 보도했습니다.
신화 통신은 차량을 타고 지나던 범인이 공안들이 있는 검문소 앞에서 갑자기 뛰어나와 칼을 휘두르며 공격을 가했다고 전했습니다.
신장 위구르 자치구에서는 베이징 올림픽 개막 직전 부터 테러 공격이 발발해 왔습니다.
이 지역에서는 지난 10일에도 연쇄 폭탄 공격이 일어나 최소 11명이 사망했습니다. 당시 괴한들은 쿠차시의 경찰소에 폭탄 공격을 가했으며, 그 외에 슈퍼마켓과 호텔, 정부건물도 공격 대상이었다고 중국 당국이 밝힌 바 있습니다.

China's official news agency says three
security officers were stabbed to death today (Tuesday)and another was
wounded in the restive western Xinjiang region.
The Xinhua news agency said an assailant jumped off a vehicle passing a
checkpoint and attacked the officers, then escaped.
The attack is the latest in an upsurge of violence in the mostly Muslim region
that started shortly before the Olympic Games under way in Beijing.
On Sunday, at least 11 people were killed in a series of attacks in the region.
Attackers set off an explosion at a police station in the city of Kuqa, and
Chinese authorities said assailants also targeted supermarkets, hotels and
government offices in the region.
