인도와 파키스탄 총리가 오늘 (2일) 스리랑카 수도 콜롬보에서 열린 남아시아지역협력연합 (SAARC) 정상회의를 계기로 별도의 회담을 가질 예정입니다.
최근 양국 갈등이 고조되고 있는 가운데 열리는 이번 회담은 15개월 만의 최고위 양자접촉이 될 것입니다.
분쟁지역인 캐슈미르에서의 계속된 충돌과 지난 달 아프가니스탄 수도 카불 주재 인도 대사관에서 발생한 폭탄테러로 41명이 사망하면서 인도와 파키스탄간 관계는 경색됐습니다.
인도는 파키스탄의 정보기관이 이번 공격에 개입됐다고 주장했으나 파키스탄은 이를 부인하고 있습니다.

The prime ministers of India and Pakistan are set to meet on
the sidelines of a South Asian summit in Colombo today (Saturday), amid
rising tensions between the two countries.
It will be the highest-level meeting between the two sides in 15 months.
Relations between the nuclear-armed countries have been strained by clashes on
their disputed Kashmir border and a July bomb attack on the Indian embassy in
Kabul in which 41 people died.
India has accused Pakistan's spy agency of involvement in the Kabul attack -- a
charge Pakistan denies.
Meanwhile, India's foreign minister Pranab Mukherjee says during their two day
summit in Sri Lanka, members of the South Asian Association of Regional
Cooperationare set to adopt a treaty aimed at combating cross-border
terrorism.
