국제올림픽위원회 소속 존 코우츠 호주 올림픽 위원장 역시 현 상황이 매우 실망스럽다며 유감을 표명했습니다.
베이징 올림픽을 취재하는 외신기자들은 어제 중국 당국이 국제사면위원회나 팔룬쿵, 티베트 관련 웹사이트 접속을 차단하고 있다고 비난했습니다.
이에 대해 중국 베이징 올림픽 조직위원회의 썬 웨이드 대변인은 중국정부가 불법으로 지정하지 않은 웹사이트에 한해 자유로운 접속이 가능하다고 해명했습니다.

A senior official with the International Olympic Committee is apologizing to foreign journalists for wrongly saying China would allow totally unrestricted access to the Internet during the upcoming Beijing Games.
Kevan Gospar, the head of the IOC's media commission, says he was not aware
that senior IOC officials had agreed with Beijing that some Web sites would be
blocked. Gospar called the situation "unacceptable."
Australian Olympic chief John Coates, also a member of the IOC, expressed his
disappointment, calling the situation a pity.
Foreign journalists in Beijing reported Wednesday they have been unable to
access Web sites for the human rights group Amnesty International, the Falun
Gong spiritual movement, and the Tibetan government-in-exile.
A spokesperson for the Beijing Olympic committee (Sun Weide)says
journalists will have full access to Internet web sites not deemed illegal by
by Chinese authorities.
