한편 영국은 어제 이란이 핵무기 개발 의혹에 대한 서방측의 우려를 완화하지 않고 있는데 대응해 이란 최대 은행의 자산을 동결하겠다고 발표했습니다. 이란의 한 주간지는 정부 관리를 인용해 이란 정부가 자산동결에 대비해 이미 7백50억 달러를 유럽에서 인출했다고 보도했습니다. 그러나 관련 은행들은 이란의 어떠한 자금 이체도 확인하지 않았습니다.

Foreign Minister Ali Reza Sheikh Attar as saying enrichment work will continue.
Britain said Monday it is freezing the assets of Iran's largest bank because
Tehran has yet to ease Western concerns it may be developing nuclear weapons.
An Iranian weekly (Shahrvand-e Emrouz) quoted government officials as
saying Tehran had withdrawn about 75 billion dollars from Europe to prevent the
assets from being blocked. Banking officials have not confirmed any transfer.
European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana delivered a new package of
economic incentives to Iranian officials Saturday, and he said the meeting went
"better than expected."
