일본이 파키스탄의 테러와의 전쟁에서 새로 출범한 그 나라 정부를 지원해주기로 약속했습니다.
일본의 고무라 마사히코 외상은 3일 파키스탄 수도 이슬라마바드에서 현지 관리들과 만난 자리에서 이같이 약속했습니다. 그러나 파키스탄 관리들은 일본이 테러범들과 싸우는데 있어 어떻게 돕기로 합의했는지 구체적으로 밝히지 않았습니다.
파키스탄의 샤 메무드 쿠레시 외무장관은 파키스탄이 그동안 테러에 대처하기 위해 다방면의 전략을 발전시켜왔다고 말했습니다. 쿠레시 장관은 파키스탄이 경제발전을 위한 다양한 사업을 시작했고 폭력을 거부한 반군과 대화도 나누고 있다고 말했습니다.

Japan has offered to help Pakistan's newly elected government in its fight against terrorism.
Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura made the offer during talks today (Saturday) in Islamabad with Pakistani officials. The officials did not specify how Japan agreed to help fight terrorists.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan has evolved a multi-prong strategy to deal with terrorism.
He said his country has started various projects for economic development and is engaged in dialogue with rebels who have rejected violence.
Qureshi also said he urged his Japanese counterpart to use Japan's position as chair of the so-called G-8, or group of eight industrialized nations, to encourage development of Pakistan's volatile border region with Afghanistan.
Japan's Komura also signed a deal pledging nearly 500 million dollars in loans to Pakistan. The money is for developing irrigation systems, laying electric transmission lines, establishing grid stations and improving the country's road network.
