이란은 아제르바이잔에게 지난 달 이후 아제르바이잔이 이란과의 국경을 봉쇄하고 이란으로 수송될 예정이던 러시아 원자력 설비 선적물을 저지하고 있는 조치를 신속히 해제하라고 요구했습니다.
이란 외무부의 모하마드 알리 호쎄이니 대변인은 27일 러시아의 핵시설 선적물은 이란과 러시아간 협력을 위한 골격이 되고 있다면서 아제르바이잔 정부에게 이 선적물을 즉시 이란 측에 전달할 것을 촉구했습니다.
관계관들은 이 핵선적물은 이란이 남부 항구도시 부셰르에서 러시아의 지원을 받아 건설 중인 핵발전소의 원자로에서 사용될 것이라고 말하고 있습니다.
아제르바이잔 관계관들은 이 선적물 내용에 관한 더 많은 정보를 알아내기 위해 기다리고 있는 중이라고 말했습니다. 이들 관계관은 러시아의 이 선적물이 이란에 대한 유엔안전보장이사회의 제재조치에 위반되지 않는 지를 확실히 하길 원하고 있습니다. 유엔안보리는 이란이 민간용, 핵무기 제조용 모두에 사용될 수 있는 우라늄 농축 과정을 중단하지 않고 있다는 이유로 이란에 대해 제재 조치를 내렸습니다.

Iran is demanding that Azerbaijan release a Russian shipment of nuclear parts blocked at the Iran-Azerbaijan border since last month.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said today (Sunday) that the nuclear equipment is in the framework of Iran-Russia cooperation.
He called on the government of Azerbaijan to release the shipment immediately.
Officials say the nuclear equipment is destined for the nuclear power plant being built by Russia in Iran's southern port city of Bushehr.
Azerbaijani officials say they are waiting for more information about the content of the shipment. They want to make sure the cargo does not violate sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council because of Iran's refusal to stop enriching uranium - a process that can be used both for civilian purposes and in making nuclear weapons.
