미국에서 소비자 옹호 주창자인 랄프 네이더 씨가 올해 또다시 대통령 선거에 출마할 계획이라고 발표했습니다.
네이더 씨는 25일 NBC-TV '언론과의 만남'이라는 프로그램에 출연해 올해 대선에서 무소속으로 출마할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.
네이더 씨는 지난 2000년 대선에서도 제 3당 후보로 출마한 바 있습니다.
한편 민주당 대선 후보 경선은 앞서 23일 힐라리 클린턴 상원 의원이 바락 오바마 상원의원에 대해 자신의 건강보험 계획을 비판하는 선거운동 소책자를 배포한 것을 두고 부끄러운줄 알라며 공격 수위를 높이면서 양측간 공세가 더욱 치열해지고 있습니다.
오바마 의원은 그같은 정보는 정확한 것이라면서 클린턴 의원의 공격에 대해 일종의 정치적 전략이라고 일축했습니다.

U.S. consumer advocate Ralph Nader has announced that he plans to enter the 2008 race for president.
Nader announced his plans to run as an independent candidate on NBC's "Meet the Press" news program today (Sunday).
Nader also ran as a third-party candidate in the 2000 presidential election. Many Democrats blame Nader for taking a significant amount of votes from former vice president Al Gore and delivering a victory to President George Bush.
On Saturday, the race for the Democratic nomination for president became more contentious, with New York Senator Hillary Clinton emphatically speaking out against rival Barak Obama, saying "shame on him" for the distribution of campaign pamphlets that criticized her healthcare plan.
She said the literature was a betrayal of Senator Obama's pledge to practice a new style of politics.
Obama responded saying the information on the mailings is correct, and he dismissed Clinton's attack as a political tactic.
