Israel reduced power supplies to Gaza by about one percent late Thursday, and said it would further reduce supplies in the next few days.
Israel is trying to pressure Hamas militants to reduce their rocket and mortar fire at Israel. Human Rights Watch has condemned the tactic, saying fuel and power cuts collectively punish civilians and violate the rules of war.
On Thursday, Israeli forces killed seven Palestinians, including a schoolteacher, in a barrage of ground and air attacks on the Gaza Strip.
