중국산 냉동만두로 인한 일본내 소비자중독사건과 관련해 4일, 일본 정부가 중국에 진상조사단을 파견했습니다.
지난 주에 일본 효고현과 지바현에서 이 만두를 먹은 10명의 일본인들이 농약에 중독되는 사건이 발생했습니다.
일본 조사단은 이번 중국 방문중 문제의 만두를 제조해 일본으로 수출한 텐양 식품 공장들을 조사하고 중국 관계자들도 만날 예정입니다.
그러나 텐양사측은 지난 2년간 원료나 제품에서 기준을 초과하는 잔류농약이 검출된 적이 없다며 안전성을 강조했습니다.
일본 경찰은 회수된 만두 봉투에서 구멍이 뚫린 것을 발견하고 누군가가 의도적으로 유해성분을 주입했는지, 아니면 유통이나 보관과정에서 우연히 구멍이 뚫렸는지에 대해 정밀조사를 벌이고 있습니다.

Japanese officials travel to China today (Monday) to try and find out how Chinese-made dumplings were contaminated with pesticide. Last week, the dumplings sickened 10 Japanese and sparked a nationwide scare over imported food.
A Japanese cabinet official says that during their visit, the four officials will inspect factories in China where the dumplings were made and meet with Chinese authorities.
So far, tests in China have turned up no signs of the pesticide that Japanese authorities have blamed for making people sick.
In Japan, investigators have found punctures on the outside of at least one of the bags tied to the poisonings. Traces of the pesticide have also been found on the outside of the dumpling bags. Police have declined to say if they suspect criminal intent.
