이란 외무부는 자국의 과거 핵활동과 관련해 국제원자력기구, IAEA가 계속 품고 있는 모든 의혹들에 대해 답변할 것이라고 다짐했습니다.
IAEA의 모하메드 엘바라데이 사무총장이 이틀동안 테헤란을 방문한 뒤를 이어 이란 외무부 대변인은 관계관들이 앞으로 4주 안에 남아있는 모든 의혹들을 불식시키기로 합의했다고 말했습니다.
이란은 또한 엘바라데이 사무총장에게 자국의 핵 과학자들이 개발하고 있는 새로운 세대의 우라늄 농축 원심분리기 에 관한 정보도 제공했다고 덧붙였습니다.
이란의 최고 지도자 아야톨라 알리 하메네이는 앞서 12일 엘바라데이 사무총장에게 이란의 핵개발 프로그램과 관련해 이란과 접촉하는 기구는 유엔안전보장이사회가 아닌 국제원자력기구 IAEA 여야한다는 점을 강조했습니다.
유엔안보리는 이란이 핵무기 제조에 사용될 수도 있는 우라늄 농축 과정을 중단하지 않은 것과 관련해 이란에 대해 두차례 제재조치를 가했습니다.

Iran's foreign ministry is pledging to answer all questions that the United Nations nuclear agency still has about its past nuclear activities.
Following a two-day visit by International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohammed ElBaradei to Tehran, a foreign ministry spokesman said officials have agreed to clear up remaining questions in the next four weeks.
Iran also said it gave ElBaradei information about a new generation of uranium-enrichment centrifuges that Iranian nuclear scientists are developing.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told ElBaradei Saturday that the IAEA -- not the U.N. Security Council -- should be the institution in contact with Iran about its nuclear program.
The Security Council has imposed two rounds of sanctions on Iran for its failure to suspend uranium enrichment, a process that can be used in making nuclear weapons.
