터키의 전투기들이 23일 이라크 북부지역에 대한 또다른 공습을 단행했다고 이라크내 한 쿠르드 관계관이 밝혔습니다.
이라크 쿠르드계 보안군 대변인은 터키와의 접경 부근에서 단행된 이번 공습으로 인명 피해는 없었다면서 현지 주민들은 이미 다른 지역으로 탈출했다고 전했습니다.
앞서 터키 군은 자국의 전투기와 포병대가 22일 이라크 북부 지역에 있는 쿠르드 반군 목표지점들을 공격했다면서 계속해서 더 많은 기습작전이 전개될 것이라고 경고했습니다. 이번 공격은 터키군이 쿠르드 노동자 당, PKK 반군에 대해 한 주안에 세번째로 국경넘어 단행한 군사작전이었습니다.
터키군은 지난 22일 최근 작전에서 PKK 반군 수백명이 사망했다고 밝혔으나 이같은 사망자 수는 독자적으로 확인할 수 없었습니다.

An Iraqi Kurdish official says Turkish warplanes carried out another bombing raid today (Sunday) in northern Iraq.
The spokesman for Iraqi Kurdish security forces (Jabar Yawar) says no civilians were hurt in the air strike near the Turkish border. He says residents had already fled the area.
Earlier, Turkey's military said its warplanes and artillery units struck Kurdish rebel targets in northern Iraq on Saturday and warned that more raids would follow. That attack was Turkey's third cross-border operation against Kurdistan Workers' Party rebels in a week.
The Turkish military said Saturday that hundreds of PKK rebels have been killed in the recent operations. The toll could not be independently verified.
