당국은 성명을 통해 터키 국경에 인접한 이라크 내 불법단체, 쿠르드노동자당, PKK 기지들을 목표로 터키군의 공습이 단행됐다고 밝히면서 이같이 말했습니다. 이라크 북부 쿠르드 지역 관계관들은 터키군이 국경으로부터 110킬로미터 떨어진 이라크 북부 영토의 쿠르드족 마을 여러 곳을 공습했으며
이 공습으로 여자 한 명이 사망하고 주민들이 탈출했다고 말했습니다. 터키는 이라크 북부 쿠르드족 지역을 근거로 PKK 반도들이 터키 남부지역을 공격해 살상을 자행하고 있다고 비난하면서 지난 몇 달 동안 PKK 반도들에 대해 몇 차례 월경 공세작전을 전개해 왔습니다.

Turkish warplanes have attacked Kurdish rebel targets deep inside northern Iraq.
Iraqi Kurdish officials say Turkish airstrikes hit several villages early this (Sunday) morning, killing a woman and forcing villagers to flee. The raids took place in the Qandil mountains, about 100 kilometers south of the Turkish-Iraqi border.
Turkey's military says its warplanes only targeted bases of the rebel Kurdistan Workers Party or PKK, not the civilian population. It says Turkish troops fired artillery across the border into northern Iraq after the aircraft returned.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the airstrikes were a success and vowed to continue the fight against the PKK inside and outside Turkey.
Turkey's military has launched several operations against PKK rebels inside Iraq in recent months, using long-range artillery and helicopters.
