알리 알 다바흐 이라크 정부 대변인은 이 날 성명에서 이라크 내각은 모든 지역, 외국 군사용역회사들을 이라크 법에 따라 검토하기로 결정했다고 밝혔습니다.
다바흐 대변인은 또 이라크 내각은 내무부가 이라크 내 미국 군사 용역회사 '블랙워터 USA'의 면허를 취소한 결정을 지지한다고 밝혔습니다.
한편, 콘돌리자 라이스 미국 국무부 장관은 17일 누리 알 말리키 이라크 총리에게 전화를 걸어 바그다드에서 미군 보안 계약직 요원들이 연관된 총격전에서 민간인 사상자가 난 데 대해 유감을 표명했었습니다.
Iraq says it will review the operations of all security companies working in the country,
following a deadly gunbattle involving U.S. security contractors in Baghdad.
Government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said (today/Tuesday) the Cabinet has decided to review all local and foreign security companies in accordance with Iraqi law.
He said the Cabinet also supported the Interior Ministry's decision to withdraw the license of Blackwater USA, the company involved in a shooting Sunday in which Iraqi officials say eight civilians were killed.
On Monday, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice telephoned Iraq's prime minister (Nouri al-Maliki) to express regret for civilian deaths and promise a full investigation into the incident, in which a U.S. diplomatic convoy came under attack and its private security escort started shooting.
