이들은 또 버마 경찰과 친 군부 세력들은 사진 기자들이 사진을 찍는 것도 막았으며, 사복 경찰이 삽과 철봉으로 기자들을 위협했다고 밝혔습니다.
지난 열흘간 수백명의 버마 시민들은 양곤과 다른 도시들에게 버마 정부의 연료 가격 인상과 시민들의 악화된 생활 조건에 항의하는 시위를 벌여왔습니다.

Two media rights groups are condemning efforts by the Burmese government to prevent journalists from reporting on rare anti-government protests.
Reporters Without Borders and the Burma Media Association are accusing the military-run government of using "heavy-handed repression, intimidation and censorship" on journalists over the past week. The groups say the military is trying to black out reports on public demonstrations against a steep increase in fuel prices.
The media watchdogs say Burmese police and pro-government militia have tried to stop photographers from taking pictures. They also say plainclothes security agents have threatened journalists with shovels and iron bars.
Hundreds of Burmese have taken to the streets of Rangoon and other cities over the past 10 days to protest fuel prices and citizens' generally poor living conditions.
