아베 신조 일본 총리가 23일 사흘 일정의 인도 순방을 마치고 일본 국수주의자들의 영웅으로 칭송되는 한 인도 판사의 유족을 만났습니다.
아베 총리는 제2차 세계대전종전후 연합군의 극동 군사 재판중에 A급 전범들에대한 사형판결에 반대했던 인도 판사, 라다비노드 팔의 아들을 콜카타에서 만났습니다.
당시 극동군사재판에서는 전범으로 기소됐던 아베 총리의 조부, 기시 노부스케도 무죄판결을 받았습니다.
한편 아베 총리는 이번 인도 순방중에 일본과 인도사이의 보다 강력한 경제적 전략적 동맹관계 수립을 추진했습니다.
Japanese Prime Minster Shinzo Abe has met the son of an Indian judge who stood up to Britain and sided with imperial Japan after World War Two.
Mr. Abe met the son of Radhabinod Pal today (Thursday) in Kolkata, at the end of his three-day official visit to India.
Pal is a hero to Japanese nationalists for opposing an Allied tribunal's decision to condemn Japanese war criminals to death after World War Two.
The tribunal also cleared Mr. Abe's grandfather, Nobusuke Kishi, who had been charged with war crimes.
Also today (Thursday), Mr. Abe met with West Bengal state government officials and was to inaugurate an Indian-Japanese cultural center.
Mr. Abe arrived in India Tuesday to push for a stronger economic and strategic alliance with New Delhi.
