미국의 고위 당국자는 14일 중국 선양에서 열리는 실무회의에서 북한 핵문제 해결을 위한 방안이 나오기를 기대한다고 말했습니다.
미국의 6자회담 수석대표인 크리스토퍼 힐 차관보는 베이징에서 이날 기자들과 만나 오는 16일 열리는 비핵화 실무그룹 회의에서 북한 핵시설 해체를 위한 시간표를 마련하기를 희망한다고 설명했습니다.
중국 선양에서 이틀간 열리는 비핵화 실무그룹에서는 한국, 미국,북한,중국, 일본, 러시아 6개국 실무자들이 참석합니다. 이 자리에서는 북한의 핵불능화에 대한 구체적인 방안과 함게 북한의 핵시설 신고 문제를 논의합니다.
또 그동안 논란거리였던 농축우라늄 문제도 제기될 것으로 전망됩니다. 베이징에서 양자회동을 가진 미국과 북한은 선양에서 열리는 실무회의에서 또다시 만나 핵문제를 논의합니다.
전날 북한의 김계관 외무성 부상을 만난 힐차관보는 이날 중국측 수석대표인 우다웨이 외교부 부부장을 만났습니다. 또 북한의 김 부상도 이와 별도로 중국측과 접촉을 가졌습니다.

The chief U.S. nuclear envoy says he expects progress later this week when negotiators meet to hold an upcoming round of talks on ending North Korea's nuclear weapons programs.
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill said today (Tuesday) that participants in this week's six-nation talks should be able to reach their objective of setting a timeline to dismantle Pyongyang's nuclear weapons programs.
Hill met with his Chinese counterpart Wu Dawei in Beijing today. In their meeting, the two discussed their separate discussions with North Korea's representative, Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye Kwan.
Kim and Hill are expected to continue talks during two days of working group meetings beginning Thursday in China's northeastern city of Shenyang.
The next round of six-party talks is scheduled for early September.
