파키스탄 집권여당 초드리 슈잣 후세인 대표도 이 날 열린 여권 원로들과의 회의에서 무샤라프 대통령과 만난 뒤 무샤라프 대통령이 국가 비상사태를 선포하지 않을 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
앞서 파키스탄 정부 대변인은 무샤라프 대통령이 국내외적 위협으로 인해 국가 비상사태를 선포할 가능성을 배제하지 않고 있다고 밝힌 바 있습니다.

Pakistani officials say President Pervez Musharraf does not intend to declare a state of emergency.
Ruling party head Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain made the announcement after General Musharraf met today (Thursday) with senior aides to discuss the matter. He dismissed as "baseless" media reports that the Pakistani leader was poised to impose emergency rule.
Mr. Musharraf had abruptly canceled plans to attend a peace conference in Kabul.
Pakistan's information minister (Tariq Azeem) said a state of emergency declaration was being discussed due to what he called "external and internal threats." He said a deteriorating security situation posed a threat in Pakistan's northwest near the Afghan border.
Pakistan continues battling pro-Taleban militants in tribal regions bordering Afghanistan, but the United States has been pressuring the government to do more.
