중국 관영 신화통신은 28일 두 사람을27일에 동부 쟝서성에서 발견했다고 보도했습니다.
남편인 55살 남자는 치료약에 내성을 가진 다제내성 결핵을 앓고 있으며, 아내는 전염성이 있는 일반 결핵을 앓고 있습니다.
신화 통신은 두 사람이 타이완의 카오슝에서 홍콩을 거쳐 지난 주 중국의 난징에 도착했다고 말했습니다.
타이완 질병통제센터는 두 사람이 중국 병원에서 치료를 받고있다고 말했습니다.
중국은 비행기안에서 이들 부부 근처에 앉았던 승객들을 찾고있습니다.
이들 부부는 여행금지 조치를 어긴 혐의로 타이완에 돌아가면 최고 9천 달러의 벌금형에 처해질 수 있습니다.
Chinese officials say they have located two tuberculosis patients from Taiwan who
defied a flight ban.
China's official Xinhua news agency said today (Saturday) that the patients, a
55-year-old man suffering from a drug-resistant form of tuberculosis, and his wife, who
has standard TB and is infectious, were found Friday in the eastern province of Jiangsu.
Xinhua said the couple flew from (Kaohsiung in) Taiwan to Hong Kong, then to Nanjing in mainland China last week.
Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control said the couple are being treated in a hospital in
China. Officials are looking for people who sat near the man and woman on the flight.
Upon their return to Taiwan, the couple could face a fine of more than nine thousand
dollars for ignoring the travel restrictions.
