이라크의 수도 바그다드에서 26일 차량 폭탄 테러로 80여명의 사상자가 발생했습니다.
이라크 경찰 당국에 따르면 폭탄 테러는 바그다드의 시아파 밀집지역인 카라다 구역에서 발생해 최소 20명이 사망하고 60명 이상이 다쳤습니다.
또 바그다드 남부에서는 길가에 설치한 폭발물이 터져 순찰 중이던 이라크 경찰 5명이 숨졌습니다. 또 이날 이라크 북부 티크리트 지역에서도 이라크 저항세력이 경찰관을 공격해 5명이 사망했습니다.
이라크 주둔 미군 당국은 아번주에 저항세력과 교전중에 미군 병사 5명이 전사했다고 발표했습니다.
한편 이라크의 모하메드 하지 하무드 외무장관은 이날 난민 문제를 해결하기 위해 국제회의를 열자고 제의했습니다.
유엔에 따르면 2003년이래 이라크에서 75만명 이상의 난민 이웃 요르단으로 밀려들어왔으며 인접국인 시라아에도 140만명 이상의 난민이 들어왔습니다. 요르단 정부는 이라크 난민들을 수용하는데 연간 10억달러를 지출하고 있습니다.

Iraqi police say a car bomb has killed at least 20 people and wounded more than 60 in central Baghdad.
The attack took place in a busy shopping area in the predominately Shi'ite district of Karrada today (Thursday).
In other violence, a roadside bomb killed five Iraqi security personnel on patrol south of Baghdad (between Hillah and Diwaniyah), and five others were killed while carrying out a raid near (the northern town of) Tikrit.
In the northern city of Kirkuk, a car bomb attack killed at least six people. Also, the U.S. military today announced the deaths of five American service members in combat in Iraq this week.
In neighboring Jordan today, a top Iraqi official called on the international community to assist nations who are hosting hundreds of thousands of Iraqi refugees.
The official (secretary general of Iraq's foreign ministry, Mohammed al-Haji Hmoud) made the plea at an international conference discussing ways to deal with the refugees.
