아프가니스탄의 미군 주도 연합군은 남부에서 벌인 이틀간의 교전에서 50여명의 탈레반 저항세력을 살해했습니다.
미군과 아프간 군은 지난 22일, 남부 헬만드 주에서 회교무장세력의 매복공격을 받자 공중지원을 요청했습니다.
미군은 발표한 성명에서 연합군 항공기들이 폭탄 4발을 투하해 적의 진지를 파괴했다고 말했습니다. 성명은 또 저항세력이 연합군 항공기를 격추시키려고 시도했지만, 실패했다고 말했습니다.
한편, 남부와 동부에서 일어난 별도의 사건으로 6명의 나토군이 사망했습니다. 4명은 동부지역에서 전투 순찰 중 길가폭탄이 터져 사망했습니다. 노르웨이 군 병사 한명이 중부 로우가르 주에서 사망했고, 나토군 병사 한 명은 남부에서 사망했습니다.

The U.S.-led coalition in Afghanistan says more than 50 suspected Taleban insurgents have been killed in two days of fighting in the south.
U.S. and Afghan forces called for air support on Sunday after Islamist fighters ambushed a military patrol with a suicide car bomb in Helmand province, the heartland of Afghanistan's poppy growing region.
A statement from the U.S. military says coalition aircraft dropped four bombs to destroy enemy compounds. It also said insurgents tried and failed to shoot down a coalition aircraft.
Elsewhere, six NATO soldiers lost their lives in separate incidents in the south and east. Four were killed while on combat patrol in the east when a roadside bomb exploded. A Norwegian soldier died in central Lowgar province and a sixth NATO soldier was killed in the south.
Also, the Afghan interior ministry said today (Monday) that 14 suspected Taleban were killed during battles on Sunday in southern Zabul province.
