중국이 올 2/4 분기에 12%에 가까운 경제성장률을 기록했다고 국가 통계국이 밝혔습니다.
통계국은 지난 4월부터 6월사이의 경제성장률이 분기별로는 지난 몇 년 사이 가장 높은 11.9%를 기록했다고 밝혔습니다.
중국 중앙은행은 앞서 지나친 경기과열을 억제하기 위해 은행이 반드시 유지해야 하는 현금 보유액을 늘리고 금리도 인상했습니다. 중국 국가통계국은 그러나 이런 노력에도 불구하고 올 상반기에 투자률이 26% 가량 증가했다고 말했습니다.
통계국 대변인은 정부가 경기 연착륙을 유도하고 가열된 투자 분위기를 식히기 위해 여러 긴축방안들을 마련할 것이라고 말하고, 그러나 물가를 동요시킬수 있는 인플레이션을 크게 우려하고 있다고 덧붙였습니다. 중국에서는 식품가격이 계속 오르고 있는 가운데 지난 6월의 물가상승률이 4.4 %를 기록했습니다.
China's Bureau of Statistics says the country's economy grew nearly 12 percent in the second quarter of this year.
The 11-point-nine percent increase between April and June was China's highest quarterly growth rate in years.
China's central bank has increased the amount of cash that banks must hold in reserve and raised interest rates to try to limit excessive lending. Despite these moves, the statistics bureau says investment still climbed about 26 percent in the first half of this year.
A spokesman for the bureau (Li Xiaochao) says the government will do more to slow lending and cool investment, but he says inflation is a major concern.
Food prices are continuing to rise. The statistics bureau says the consumer price index, a key inflation indicator, was up four-point-four percent in June.
