중국의 관영 신화통신은 중국 중부 후난성의 2천명에 이르는 관리들이 최근 중국의 1자녀 정책을 위반했다고 보도했습니다.
신화통신은 후난성 가족계획위원회가 6일 발표한 보고서에 따르면 1자녀 정책을 위반한 사람들 가운데는 중국의 국회의원과 지방의원, 정치 자문가, 기업인과 고위 지식인들이 포함됐다고 밝혔습니다.
중국은 13억의 인구를 가진 세계 최대 인구 보유국입니다. 중국은 폭발적인 인구증가를 억제하기 위해 지난 1970년 이래 도시 지역에서 엄격한 1자녀 정책을 추진해왔습니다.

Chinese state media say nearly two thousand officials in the central province of Hunan have violated the nation's one-child policy in recent years.
The official Xinhua news agency says the provincial family planning commission revealed Friday that among the offenders were national and local lawmakers, political advisors, businessmen and senior intellectuals. The report says they were all found to have more than one child and some had extramarital affairs.
Xinhua says some of the officials' offenses were exposed during corruption investigations.
China is the world's most populous nation, with about one-point-three billion people. It has enforced a strict one-child policy in urban areas since the late 1970s to prevent explosive population growth.
