중국은 오늘 중일전쟁의 발단이 된 노구교사건 발발 70주년을 맞아 전국에서 기념식을 가졌습니다.
이날 노구교 부근에 세워진 항일전쟁기념관에서 열린 기념식에는 항일참전군인 등 천여명의 시민들이 참석해 일제의 침략을 규탄했습니다.
중국은 중일전쟁 발발을 기념하는 공식적인 행사는 갖지 않았습니다. 이날 베이징 시내의 일본 대사관 외곽에는 경찰들이 추가로 배치돼 만일의 항의시위에 대비했습니다.
또 이날 남부 난징에서는 난징학살 70주년 기념식이 열렸으며, 중국 전역에서는 미국에서 제작된 일제의 난징 대학살을 담은 영화 ‘난킹’이 개봉됐습니다. 난킹은 난징의 옛 이름입니다.

China marked the 70th anniversary of the beginning of war against Japan today (Saturday) by unveiling a war exhibit at the bridge where the first shots were traded.
About one thousand people, including veteran soldiers from the battle, gathered at the Marco Polo Bridge to attend the exhibit.
China had no other official ceremonies to mark the outbreak of the war. Additional police vans were parked outside the Japanese embassy in what was thought to be an attempt to discourage protests.
The movie "Nanking," opened in China today. The U.S.-made film is about a Japanese massacre that took place 70 years ago in the city of Nanking, now known as Nanjing.
The number of total casualties is disputed. While the Chinese say up to 300 thousand soldiers and ivilians were killed, the Japanese say their research puts that figure at about 20 thousand. An tribunal set up following World War Two put the number killed at 142 thousand.
