이라크 수도 바그다드의 한 회교 시아파 밀집지역에서 5일 결혼식 피로연장 근처에서 차량폭탄이 폭발해 적어도 17명이 숨지고 25명이 다쳤습니다.
사망자들 가운데는 어린이들도 있었다고 이라크 관리들이 전했습니다. 바그다드에서는 또 이날 방탄장비를 관통할 수 있는 도로변 폭탄이 폭발해 미군 병사 2명이 숨지고 2명이 다쳤다고 미군 당국이 밝혔습니다.
미군 당국은 기존에 이란이 이같은 무기들을 이라크내 저항분자들에게 제공한다고 주장한 바 있습니다.
한편, 미국의 ‘워싱턴 포스트’ 신문은 5일 바그다드내 종파간 싸움으로 인한 사망자수가 두달째 늘어나 지난 1월보다 올랐다고 보도했습니다.

A car bomb near a wedding party has killed at least 17 people and wounded 25 more in a mainly Shi'ite district of the Iraqi capital.
Iraqi officials say some of those killed by the blast today (Thursday) (in the Abu Dshir neighborhood) were children.
Elsewhere in Baghdad, the U.S. military said a roadside bomb that can penetrate armor (explosively formed penetrator) killed two U.S. soldiers and wounded two others. In the past, the military has accused Iran of supplying such weapons to insurgents.
Also today, the Washington Post reports deaths from sectarian violence in Baghdad have risen for the second month and are now higher than they were in January.
The newspaper says in June, according to the Iraqi health ministry, the number of unidentified bodies found on the streets rose to 453 -- despite the deployment of additional U.S. troops.
